Project Updates

Hills of Gold Wind Farm is dedicated to engaging meaningfully with the community at every stage of the project. We are pleased to share the latest updates on Hills of Gold Wind Farm. Explore our community initiatives, read our latest newsletters and stay informed on upcoming opportunities.

Working with the Nundle community

Hills of Gold Wind Farm is committed to creating lasting benefits for the local community throughout the life of the project. Through a dedicated Community Benefits Program and a strong focus on working with local businesses during construction and operations, the project aims to support local jobs, strengthen the regional economy, and make a positive contribution to the communities that host it.

Community feedback will help inform how the project is delivered, including local benefit prioritiescommunity engagement, and local procurement and employment. We will continue to share timely project information and provide opportunities for the community to ask questions and contribute as plans progress.

To receive project updates, ask a question or share feedback, contact the team at community@someva.com.au or phone 0428 208 795.

Community BBQ

In March 2026, the Hills of Gold Wind Farm reached a significant milestone, receiving final approval from the NSW Land and Environment Court. With approvals now in place, the Someva team is focused on the next phase of the project, including detailed design, refinement of the wind turbine layout and grid connection, procurement activities, and pre-construction planning. We will share regular updates as the project progresses.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Community BBQ at the Nundle Bowling Club in May 2026. It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with local residents, introduce new members of the project team, and share an update on the next steps for the Hills of Gold Wind Farm.

Upcoming Opportunities

Community Consultative Committee (CCC)

In 2027, Hills of Gold Wind Farm intends to establish a Community Consultative Committee (CCC), providing an independent forum for regular communication between the project team, local residents, councils and other stakeholders. The CCC will support transparent discussion of detailed design, construction planning, environmental management, community benefits and emerging local issues. We encourage anyone with an interest in the project, or who knows someone who would be a good community representative, to get involved when we publish the Expression of Interest for community and stakeholder representatives. Further information will be shared in 2027.

Supporting Local Jobs

Hills of Gold Wind Farm is expected to create 211 jobs through construction with an additional 28 ongoing operational roles. We want as many local businesses as possible to be involved in the project and have registered an Expression of Interest page for businesses through the Industry Capability Network (ICN Gateway) as we begin the procurement process. The ICN Gateway details 26 work packages for the Hills of Gold Wind Farm to support local and regional participation. Expressions of Interest submissions will remain open through the ICN Gateway until June 2027.
